Bonjour, Today was Pink Shirt day, we ready a story called Llama Llama and the Bully Goat. Then, we talked about what is bullying and what we can do in situations where bullying is taking place. Afterwards, we brainstormed ideas of how to be a good friend and lift others up. Each student traced and cut out their handprint on pink paper and I wrote their ideas on the hands and put them up on display in the class. We also looked at the sounds for the letters "M' and "O" today and the students did a great job of brainstorming French words that contain each sound! We also added "O" to our list of vowels on the board; the students know that vowels are special letters because their sounds match their names. At the end of the day, I talked to the students about how we will be turning the house centre into a grocery store and we watched a video of a grocery store tour. Monday, October 28th

Bonjour! What a 'gris' day!  We hope everyone got to where they needed to be safely today!  Today the students worked on different gross motor and fine motor skills required for the EYE assessments in PE and in the class.  Cutting, colouring, copying shapes, balancing, jumping, and skipping are just a few examples.   I apologize about the lack of pictures being posted recently. I have been working one-on-one with students and haven't had the time. The morning really go by in the blink of an eye. Thank you for your understanding!

Thursday, November 14th

Bonjour! No school for the AM kindergarten student tomorrow. We will see them again on Monday. Reminder that you will be able to register for conferences after 4:00pm this afternoon. I look forward to seeing all of you and discussing the results of the Early Years Evaluation. Bus passes went home with some students today. If your child has a bus pass in their purple folder, please help them attach it securely to their backpack. Today, we learned about the letters B and R. The students did a great job of writing these letters, I was impressed with everyone! We also had gym, centres, and buddies today. Our grade 2 buddy class came and did some patterning, first with blocks, and then on paper. In our book about emotions, we read about being sad (triste) and angry (fâché). Have a wonderful weekend!
