Bonjour!

Students are encouraged to wear plaid to school on Monday.

Monday will also be our skating day! Please send students to school with warm clothes, their skates, and helmets. For those of you who are volunteering for this event, your volunteer forms went home today. Skating will begin at 8:50 but we ask that volunteers come to the class at 8:30 in order to help students get ready.

Today was a great at Varsity Acres School. There was so much school spirit! Today was the kick-off of our Carnaval event. Carnaval is a festival that takes place in Quebec. If you're curious about Carnaval, we watched a wonderful video today at our school assembly that you can see here. We will be continuing our Carnaval celebrations next week.

Today was also our Choice & Curiosity day. Students were paired up and went to other classes to play board games with students from all grades. It was great to hear how they made new friends and connected with other teachers.

During centre time, students were excited to begin drawing portraits. I was so impressed by the results on the whiteboards!

Bonjour! I have now posted the November calendar on the blog. I have also created a new page to provide you with the questions for the monthly homework. The questions can be copied and pasted into a word document for printing or written out on another paper. The homework is due on November 25th; please keep the sheet at home and practice with your child until the due date.  If you have any questions, please let me know. Bonjour, Our class is still looking for a volunteer for Friday morning. If you can come, please sign up, it would be greatly appreciated. During our French circle time this morning, we practiced saying how old we are in French, which is a part of this month's homework. Today, we also expanded on our health conversation from yesterday by writing about good health in our journals and drawing at least three different healthy habits. Afterwards, the students had music with Mme Edgett and centre time. During centre time, we did some painting! At the end of the day, I introduced the final three letter sounds, "X", "Y", and "Z". The students were so excited that we've reached the of the alphabet. We will continue practicing letter sound and identifying them in our classroom songs and vocabulary.
