Bonjour,

Today was Pink Shirt day, we ready a story called Llama Llama and the Bully Goat. Then, we talked about what is bullying and what we can do in situations where bullying is taking place. Afterwards, we brainstormed ideas of how to be a good friend and lift others up. Each student traced and cut out their handprint on pink paper and I wrote their ideas on the hands and put them up on display in the class.



We also looked at the sounds for the letters "M' and "O" today and the students did a great job of brainstorming French words that contain each sound! We also added "O" to our list of vowels on the board; the students know that vowels are special letters because their sounds match their names.



At the end of the day, I talked to the students about how we will be turning the house centre into a grocery store and we watched a video of a grocery store tour. The students told me what they saw in the video using the sentence starter "J'ai vu..." (I saw). It was a great way to get them excited about what's to come in March!

Bonjour! I apologize, I had computer trouble yesterday and my blog post wouldn't publish! In gym class this month, we will be doing a gymnastics unit. Today, the students learned how to dress appropriately so that they can participate safely. You should have received an email from M Trevor about this. Below are the suggestions that were discussed the students today: - tie up long hair - avoid wearing hoodies, dresses, or skirts - wear pants that allow for a wide range of movement such as leggings, sweat pants, or track pants Thank you for your help and cooperation with this! Today, we continued practicing how to move and hold our bodies in a controlled manner. Students played a game of dance and freeze. When the music stopped, students had to freeze and maintain their balance in a pose. In French, we practiced some new animal vocabulary in order to help students with their January homework. April 3rd - Update

April 3, 2020 Hello Parents and Students,   With the current Pandemic and the cancellation of classes, an average of five hours per week of at home learning opportunities, as directed by Alberta Education ( https://www.alberta.ca/student-learning-during-covid-19.aspx ) will now be accessible using Google Classroom. Thursday, October 17th

Bonjour! Clean up went much smoother today! Thank you to those of you who talked about cleaning up with their child. Your support at home helps things go smoothly at school. Today, we was Jour Violet. The students learned how to write the word "VIOLET" as a group and then worked independently in their journals. We had a visit from a woman from Lynne who works for Alberta Health Services. Mme Lynne talk the students about the major muscle groups of the body and did some movement exercises with them. The students played a movement game during which they pretended to be an egg, toast, bacon, and a table. They also practiced balancing on foot, running on the spot, and deep breathing.
