Bonjour,

Today was Pink Shirt day, we ready a story called Llama Llama and the Bully Goat. Then, we talked about what is bullying and what we can do in situations where bullying is taking place. Afterwards, we brainstormed ideas of how to be a good friend and lift others up. Each student traced and cut out their handprint on pink paper and I wrote their ideas on the hands and put them up on display in the class.



We also looked at the sounds for the letters "M' and "O" today and the students did a great job of brainstorming French words that contain each sound! We also added "O" to our list of vowels on the board; the students know that vowels are special letters because their sounds match their names.



At the end of the day, I talked to the students about how we will be turning the house centre into a grocery store and we watched a video of a grocery store tour. The students told me what they saw in the video using the sentence starter "J'ai vu..." (I saw). It was a great way to get them excited about what's to come in March!
