Happy New Year!

The homework and class calendar for January have been posted on the blog. The homework presentations will take place on the 23rd. Please keep the homework at home until then to practice.

You may have noticed that there is an ice skating day on the January calendar.  In addition to ice skates, children will need to have a skating, hockey, or skiing helmet (bike helmets will not be allowed). More information will follow shortly!

Today was a great first day back at school. We started the day with a sharing circle; each student shared something memorable about their winter break. We also talked about some of the new centres in the classroom. Our house centre is now a vet clinic, we also have a new animal finger puppet centre, and a new writing centre where students can practice writing sentences and vocabulary words that we have learned in class.

In gym class today, we started talking about gymnastics. M. Trevor is teaching the students that gymnastic about moving your body in different ways with control. The students practiced taking turns in a running activity and played a game of tag in which gym mats were safe zones. If you would like more information about our gymnastics unity, there is a link to M. Trevor's blog and the resources page of this blog.

Thank you again to everyone for their kind gifts and well wishes over the holidays.
