Bonjour,

Happy New Year to all of you who celebrated the lunar New Year this weekend!

Today, we learned about the number 6 in French. The students practiced writing the number and the word "six" on their lapboards and then moved to the tables to copy their work into their math books. We also practiced representing the number 6 in different ways using our fingers and drawings.




In gym class today, the students got to start using some of the larger equipment! The gym period started with a safety demonstration and then the students got to use the equipment at different stations in the gym.














Today, I also put up the instructions for some new crafts in the art centre. Over the last couple weeks, students have been asking me to help them draw and make animals. They were thrilled to see what I had put together for them. I loved seeing students put their own unique twists on the crafts!


Finally, we started learning a new song this week about winter activities. Unfortunately, the song is not on Youtube. I will try to type up the lyrics and post them this week. We have also been listening to "la danse des pingouins" which can be found here and on the resource page of the blog.

Bonjour! I apologize, I had computer trouble yesterday and my blog post wouldn't publish! In gym class this month, we will be doing a gymnastics unit. Today, the students learned how to dress appropriately so that they can participate safely. You should have received an email from M Trevor about this. Below are the suggestions that were discussed the students today: - tie up long hair - avoid wearing hoodies, dresses, or skirts - wear pants that allow for a wide range of movement such as leggings, sweat pants, or track pants Thank you for your help and cooperation with this! Today, we continued practicing how to move and hold our bodies in a controlled manner. Students played a game of dance and freeze. April 3rd - Update

April 3, 2020 Hello Parents and Students,   With the current Pandemic and the cancellation of classes, an average of five hours per week of at home learning opportunities, as directed by Alberta Education ( https://www.alberta.ca/student-learning-during-covid-19.aspx ) will now be accessible using Google Classroom. Thursday, October 17th

Bonjour! Clean up went much smoother today! Thank you to those of you who talked about cleaning up with their child. Your support at home helps things go smoothly at school. Today, we was Jour Violet. The students learned how to write the word "VIOLET" as a group and then worked independently in their journals. We had a visit from a woman from Lynne who works for Alberta Health Services. Mme Lynne talk the students about the major muscle groups of the body and did some movement exercises with them. The students played a movement game during which they pretended to be an egg, toast, bacon, and a table. They also practiced balancing on foot, running on the spot, and deep breathing.
