Bonjour,

Today was a wonderful day in our classroom!

In math, we started learning about shapes. We practiced describing, naming, and drawing rectangles, triangles, and squares. We started on the carpet with our whiteboards and then students chose one shape to trace and label in their math books.

During centre time, we put the finishing touches on our grocery store centre and we decided that it's ready to open for business tomorrow. Students were busy making price tags,  making new vocabulary games, weaving shopping baskets, and colouring to get everything ready.  Thank you for all of your contributions, it has helped create a space that they are so excited about.

This week, we have the honour of having a Blackfoot elder, Saa'Kokoto, visit our school. Our class ended the morning with a trip to the learning commons to meet Saa'Kokoto and hear him tell a story. The students did a great job of being attentive listeners and participating in the discussion that followed the story. We even learned how to say "hello" in Blackfoot, which is "oki".
