Bonjour!

Tomorrow is a p.d day, there is no school for all students.

The February calendar and homework have been posted. During the month of February, we will be talking about our family. The homework will involve showing the class a family picture and talking about who is in the picture. If possible please send a family photo to school next week, we'd like to have them hanging in the class for the month of February so that the students can look at and discuss the photos with their peers.

Valentine's day is coming up and we ask that if you choose to send your child to school with valentine cards, that they send a card for every child in the class. We also ask that you do not send any candies or treats with the cards as it is a school policy. 

We have 18 students in our class. Below are the first names of each student in case you would like to address the valentines.

Today, students worked in pairs or groups of three to sort a variety items. I challenged the students to sort the same items three different ways.











 We also went to the library and I gave the students some time to explore and play in the zen room.






Finally, as a part of our last day of studying animals, I challenged the students to build different animals out of lego during centre time. I loved seeing what they came up with!

Bonjour! I apologize, I had computer trouble yesterday and my blog post wouldn't publish! In gym class this month, we will be doing a gymnastics unit. Today, the students learned how to dress appropriately so that they can participate safely. You should have received an email from M Trevor about this. Below are the suggestions that were discussed the students today: - tie up long hair - avoid wearing hoodies, dresses, or skirts - wear pants that allow for a wide range of movement such as leggings, sweat pants, or track pants Thank you for your help and cooperation with this! April 3rd - Update

April 3, 2020 Hello Parents and Students,   With the current Pandemic and the cancellation of classes, an average of five hours per week of at home learning opportunities, as directed by Alberta Education ( https://www.alberta.ca/student-learning-during-covid-19.aspx ) will now be accessible using Google Classroom. Thursday, October 17th

Bonjour! Clean up went much smoother today! Thank you to those of you who talked about cleaning up with their child. Your support at home helps things go smoothly at school. Today, we was Jour Violet. The students learned how to write the word "VIOLET" as a group and then worked independently in their journals. We had a visit from a woman from Lynne who works for Alberta Health Services. Mme Lynne talk the students about the major muscle groups of the body and did some movement exercises with them. The students played a movement game during which they pretended to be an egg, toast, bacon, and a table. They also practiced balancing on foot, running on the spot, and deep breathing.
