Bonjour!

I hope everyone had a good weekend!

Parents will receive e-mail today about the gingerbread making even that we will have in-class next Friday, the 19th. Please print, fill out, and return the bottom portion of the sheet to school as soon as possible. If you do not receive the e-mail within the next 24 hours, please let me know. Thank you!

I just want to remind parents that if your child is going to be absent from school, please email or call the office and your daycare provider if you have one.

Today, we practiced saying the first three lines of the homework and the students did a great job. The hardest part is the very last sentence and because everyone will have a different answer, it will be hard to practice in class. Please continue practicing at home. Thank you!

In gym class, the students did centres that were ski/snowboard inspired. They go to jump over hurdles, use a balance board, use floor gliders to mimic the motion of skiing across the gym, and they got to look at and touch actual ski equipment. We are lucky to have Billy and Derek visiting from C.O.P to teach the kids about the different equipment!

After gym, the students wrote "c'est l'hiver" in their journals. We talked uppercase and lower case letters, spacing between words, and periods. Overall, everyone did a great job and I loved seeing their winter drawings.

We ended the day with centers, a story about gingerbread pirates, and our new song, "Bonjour l'hiver".

In addition to some pictures from today, are some pictures from last Thursday that I didn't have the chance to post.
