Bonjour!
Please return all library book by the end of the week. Once the books are returned, I'll keep the clear library bags in the class until our next book exchange. We will resume book exchanges in the new year.
Please check your email for the Gingerbread permission slip that I sent out last night. If you did not receive the e-mail, please let me know. If you have already returned the permission slip or contacted me about it, please disregard this reminder. Thank you!
Today, we did some patterning; first with blocks, then on paper. Before we got started, we did some review and talked about some of the mistakes that are often made when patterning. Afterwards, the students had music with Mme Edgett, had centre time, and listened to me read a great book as part of our gingerbread book study. The book that I read today is called The Gingerbread Man Loose at Christmas by Laura Murray and it is all about being kind to others. We talked about giving gifts that we say, gifts that we do, and gifts that we make. I loved hearing the students' thoughts on on the story!
I set up a puppet theatre centre today with the characters that we have seen in many of the gingerbread stories that we have read so far. The centre allows students to reenact the stories and use the vocabulary that they've learned in a fun way.
